Participant Waiver and Release of Liability

Event: 4THESESH Presents The Ultimate Love Jam & Wake Camp
Venue: Liquid Leisure, Horton Road, Datchet, Berkshire, SL3 9HY
Dates: Thursday 25th – Saturday 27th September 2025

1. Scope of Event

1.1 This event consists of:

  • Two (2) days of structured wake camp (Thursday & Friday), including theory sessions, off-water coaching, demonstrations, and on-water practical riding sessions on cable systems with features/obstacles.

  • One (1) day jam-format wakeboard competition (Saturday).

1.2 The wake camp and competition are organised and delivered by 4THESESH in partnership with Liquid Leisure. Participation in any part of the event is subject to this waiver.

2. Acknowledgement of Risks

2.1 Wake Camp Practical Sessions — I acknowledge these sessions involve the greatest degree of risk, including but not limited to:

  • High-speed falls, surface and subsurface impacts, and immersion in deep water.

  • Collisions with other riders, features, equipment, or rescue craft.

  • Equipment malfunction or failure (personal or hired).

  • Variable water conditions, weather changes, and environmental hazards.

  • Fatigue or skill-progression errors leading to injury.

  • Slips, trips, and falls on wet docks, pontoons, or shore areas.

2.2 Competition Day — I acknowledge additional risks during the jam-format competition, including:

  • Riding under time pressure and in shared-course conditions.

  • Increased rider density on-course.

  • Requirement to wear a bib or ride shirt at all times on the dock and while competing.

2.3 I understand these risks can result in serious injury, permanent disability, paralysis, or death (“RISKS”). I accept there may be RISKS not listed here, including those caused by Acts of God or force majeure. I voluntarily accept all RISKS, whether known or unknown.

3. Participation Requirements

3.1 I confirm that I (or the minor I represent):

  • Am physically and mentally fit for wakeboarding activities.

  • Can swim confidently in deep water.

  • Will wear a CE-approved helmet and impact vest/buoyancy aid for all practical riding unless otherwise instructed by event staff.

  • Am not under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or impairing medication during sessions or competition.

3.2 I will follow all instructions from coaches, marshals, and event staff. Failure to comply may result in removal from activities without refund.

3.3 I will not enter Restricted Areas without express permission.

4. Medical Consent

4.1 In case of accident or medical emergency, I authorise event staff, Liquid Leisure staff, or their appointees to provide first-aid, arrange transport, and secure treatment (including surgery if urgent) as reasonably necessary.
4.2 I release them from liability for actions taken in good faith to safeguard my health.

5. Release of Liability & Indemnity

5.1 I hereby release, discharge, and hold harmless 4THESESH, Liquid Leisure, their partners, directors, employees, contractors, volunteers, sponsors, affiliates, agents, successors, and all associated personnel (“Released Parties”) from any and all claims, actions, losses, liabilities, costs, or damages arising from my participation, including those caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the Released Parties.

5.2 If a claim is brought by me, my heirs, or representatives, I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties for all resulting costs, damages, and legal fees.

6. Insurance

6.1 I acknowledge it is my responsibility to hold appropriate personal accident and liability insurance.
6.2 I understand British Water Ski & Wakeboard membership includes personal accident cover for wake sports (details: https://www.bwsw.org.uk/membership/personal-accident-insurance/).

7. Fees, Refunds & Event Changes

7.1 All entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
7.2 If the camp or competition is cancelled, curtailed, or rescheduled due to weather, safety concerns, Acts of God, or other circumstances beyond the organisers’ control, no refund or compensation will be provided.

8. Media Rights & Sponsors

8.1 I authorise the organisers and their partners to use my image, voice, and likeness in any media connected with the event without payment.
8.2 I acknowledge the event sponsors and agree not to promote conflicting brands during official activities without organiser approval.

9. Governing Law

This waiver is governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the UK courts.

I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD THIS AGREEMENT. I ACCEPT THAT BY TICKING THE BOX DURING THE BOOKING PROCESS I AM WAIVING CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO SUE. I AGREE TO BE BOUND BY ITS TERMS.
